Where do I even start?
You’re feeling down.
You’re feeling like everything you’re doing is wrong. You’re judging everything you do. You’re wondering what people are thinking of you. You’re thinking everyone thinks negatively of you. You’re thinking negatively of yourself. You’re wondering if people even want you around. You’re wondering what the heck is wrong with your brain.
You’re feeling overwhelmed.
You’re thinking, “this is too hard. This happens too much."
You know this could change. You know things could possibly be different. But where do you even start?
Here is where you start. Back at that first sentence: You’re feeling down.
So…then what do I do to stop it???
Here’s my suggestion.
The feeling starts and you see the storm approaching, tornado starting to form.
Think to yourself: will this pattern of thinking get me anywhere positive? Has it helped me in the past?
The answer is no, that is precisely why you’re still reading.
If this pattern of thinking has not gotten you closer to you self-love/happiness goal…then let’s not go there. Let’s start challenging those thoughts.
You’re feeling like everything you’re doing is wrong.
—“Not everything I do is wrong.”
You’re judging everything you do.
—“I am doing the best I can.”
You’re wondering what people are thinking of you.
—“I literally cannot control what other people think of me.”
You’re thinking everyone thinks negatively of you.
—“If they think negatively of me, they do not belong in my life.”
You’re thinking negatively of yourself.
—“I am worthy of having people in my life who care about me.”
You’re wondering if people even want you around.
—“Maybe spending time by myself and doing self-care is a better choice right now.”
You’re wondering what the heck is wrong with your brain.
—“There’s nothing wrong with my brain.”
Self talk is a powerful thing. We can base that assumption off the fact of how we got ourselves into the tornado in the first place. So, let’s twist it more positively and see what happens.
Reach out, let’s try this together.
