The More You Learn

Often times, when people think of “learning,” they think Logically.

I am here to challenge the alterative. What if we gave some more time and energy into learning about the emotional side of things?

Think about the possibilities.

When we learn logically, our brain can gain information at a fascinating level. We feel more confident, more capable. Like we can go out and try new things, get new jobs, challenge that thinking side even more.

So, what do we think could happen if we learned and grew emotionally?

Sure, it’s probably pretty scary. But…it can also be pretty beautiful.

Here’s some examples of simple ways we can process, learn, and grow emotionally:
-You noted that you have a strong reaction to when people expect an emotional response. Let’s talk about where that came from, and how we can focus on recognizing that in the moment moving forward.
-You discussed a natural response to conflict has been to retreat and sometimes your thoughts can spiral. What if we started slowing that down?
-You mentioned having limited healthy coping strategies. What if we found one that we could implement before your automatic “regular” coping strategy?

-

Imagine the possibilities if you took more control over your emotions and learned more about where they came from and why they happen.

Imagine what people might say if they see you changing your unhealthy habits into healthy habits.

Maybe they would be proud, support you, and rally behind the changes.

Maybe they would feel nervous, defensive, and it could trigger you to feel guilty. Then…what if we started processing that.

I will be the first to tell you, I don’t particularly like change.

Most specifically, change that is out of my control.

And…I also know…change can be pretty beautiful sometimes. Can’t it?

Reach out…I’d be honored to support your journey to learning & change.
